QMAM calls Radio Islam listeners, district council to restore Chiradzulu Mountain
QMAM has called on Chiradzulu Radio Islam listeners and the district council to restore the lost natural resources in Chiradzulu Mountain
The sentiments were made by QMAM publicity secretary Sheikh Jaffar Kawinga when he graced the tree planting exercise the group organized at Nkuya masjid village headman Mtamba in the area of Traditional Authority Kadewere
Sheikh Kawinga said the mountain had beautiful natural resources which have been completely depleted
“The environmental management initiative which Chiradzulu Radio Islam listeners has embarked on is commendable considering the level of natural resources degradation in the district,” Sheikh Kawinga
On his part chairperson of Chiradzulu Radio Islam listeners association Qasim Mahmood said this was their first initiative since the group was established last year
Mahmood said they thought of planting trees as one way of responding to government’s call to the citizenry to take part in bringing back and conserving environment
