Capacity building key to social Islamic development-MAM
Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has described capacity building as a key to the country’s social Islamic development.
The remarks were made at the official opening of the two weeks training workshop organized by MAM and Iraq based organization Al- Namariq Charity Organization for Muslim youth from Blantyre.
Speaking during the function, Chairperson for board of trustees of MAM, Sheikh Ali Kennedy, said the world is changing hence there is need to provide the sheikhs with advanced knowledge.
“MAM expects the participants to take training seriously and share the knowledge and skills to Muslim communities,” Sheikh Kennedy
On his remarks, Secretary General for MAM, Alhaji Twaibu Lawe, commended Al-Namariq Charity Trust for providing the financial support to the workshop.
Alhaji Lawe revealed that within the short period of time, Al-Namariq Charity Trust has lined up number programs including drilling of boreholes, construction of classroom blocks and establishment of Islamic centre.
He said MAM has already discussed with chairperson for Al-Namariq Charity Trust on the establishment of Islamic University which he said has shown interest.
