Mama Amina Foundation donates Oxygen Concentrator at Balaka District Hospital to fight Covid-19
Mama Amina Foundation of Mangochi District has donated an Oxygen Concentrator at Balaka District Hospital to fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the handover ceremony one of the executive members of Mama Amina Foundation, Hassan Maliki said they were compelled to donate the machine to complement government effort in fighting against the pandemic.
Maliki said the gesture was also meant to save lives of people who are seeking medical help at the district hospital.
“It is their wish to donate Oxygen Concentrators to all district hospitals in the country,” Maliki
Maliki, however, asked people to join hands in fighting against Covid19, saying government alone cannot manage to contain the pandemic.
Acting Matron for Balaka District Hospital, Lucia Kasawala said the machine would help provide oxygen to patients in Covid-19 isolation ward.
“We have inadequate equipment which makes it very hard to provide quality healthcare to patients hence the donation received will obviously close up those gaps,” Kasawala
Mama Amina Foundation is a humanitarian organization that seeks to alleviate poverty among Malawians.
