Parliament postpones 2020-2021 mid-term budget review meeting

Parliament has postponed the 2020-2021 mid-term budget review meeting to Monday 22^nd February

Speaker of national assembly Catherine Gotani Hara says the meeting was initially scheduled to be held from Monday 8^th February to Friday 12^th March

Gotani Hara says this decision has been made by the business committee at its meeting held on Monday 1^st February and Tuesday 2^nd February

“The business committee has resolved to postpone the meeting in order to assess further developments of covid-19 pandemic and devise appropriate response plans for parliament to meet safely to safeguard lives of members of parliament, staff and all stakeholders,” Gotani Hara

The office of the speaker assures the nation of parliament’s commitment to perform its constitutional functions amidst the pandemic to ensure that Malawi’s democracy continues to function
