Ntcheu records 80 fatal road accidents in 2020 third quarter

This year’s third quarter report shows that Ntcheu district has registered 80 road accidents which have killed 52 people with 13 serious injuries

According to the report in the past nine months Ntcheu district recorded 42 fatal road accidents and 10 serious.

According to public relations officer for Ntcheu police station sub inspector Hastings Chigalu from January to September the district has recorded high rate of accidents let alone deaths.

“Over speeding and overtaking are some of the contributing factors of these accidents,” says Chigalu

However he says many of the accidents were avoidable if motorists and other road users followed road traffic rules.

Chigalu has emphasised that it is high time passengers started taking to task reckless drivers.
