Malawi police arrests pastor for defilement

Police have arrested a pastor Matius Paul for the offense of defilement in Dowa district.

Public relations officer for Dowa police sergeant Richard Kaponda said the girl’s brother reported the matter to police after noting that she was pregnant.

Kaponda said the pastor has admitted the offence which he committed in March.

“The girl wrote standard 8 examinations this year,” sergeant Kaponda said.

Pastor Matius Phiri hails from Kalembo village in the area of traditional authority Chiwere in Dowa district.
