MAM’s Secretary General Alhaj Dr Twaibu Lawe in a statement said effective 1 January 2026 the Muslim mother body has gained full control and beneficial ownership of Quran house premises in Blantyre.
According to Dr Lawe, the loan amounting to 85 million kwacha was supposed to be repaid in 5 years starting from 2019 through collections or rentals from shops and offices located at Quran House.
Following the success, Dr Lawe has announced the dissolution of the Quran House loan bailout consortium which had been acting as an estate agent entrusted with the responsibility for managing the loan.
“MAM express profound gratitude to the members of the consortium for their tremendous efforts towards bailout of Quran House loan and to everyone who financially contributed towards Pulumutsani Quran House campaign,” said Dr Lawe.
