Government, through National Food Reserve Agency (NFRA), has announced that it will from December 31 resume the purchase of maize across the country.
In a public notice, NFRA says the maize will be purchased at a price of K1, 100 per kilogram (equivalent to K 55,000 per 50 kg bag) in all designated NFRA depots nationwide.
The Authority says the market is open to all individuals, farmers and traders. Purchases shall be conducted strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
It stresses that minimum quantity for sale is 20 bags of 50 kg each
and all maize presented for sale must meet NFRA quality
