MHRC worried with Malawi’s progress on human rights, gender equality

Malawi Human Rights Commission MHRC has expressed concern over the progress Malawi is making on issues of human rights and gender equality.

MHRC commissioner Tereza Ndanga has made the remarks when she opened the media training on human and gender reporting in Lilongwe.

Ndanga said despite the efforts by government and other stakeholders made the country is still lacking behind in promoting gender equality.

“The training is aimed at enhancing journalists understanding and reporting skills on issues related to gender equality and human rights,” Ndanga

She therefore pleaded with the media houses to take an active role in promotion and protection on human rights and gender equality.
