Family Bitten by Dangerous Animal in Liwonde
Three people have been admitted at Machinga district hospital after being bitten by wild animal suspected to be African Wild Dog during the night in Liwonde
Confirming the incident publicist of the hospital Ongani Nyirenda identified the trio as a 35 year old mother and her two children aged 5 and 10 from community residential area in the township
He said the strange animal attacked the three when they were on their way from the market and sustained various degrees of injuries
Commenting on the matter Ministry of tourism spokesperson Joseph Nkosi says the Park is no longer having wild dogs adding they have contacted district council authorities to institute investigation as it fears might be rabies outbreak
