Office of vice president has described the documents circulating on social media purporting to show the 2 billion kwacha budget for Dr Jane Ansah’s trip to United Kingdom as fake and misleading
Signed by communications and public relations officer Richard Mveriwa the office categorically states that these documents did not originate from any government institution And do not reflect official records or approved expenditure
Therefore government has advised the public to treat such information with caution and rely only on communication issued through official government channels
It condemns deliberate spread of false information intended to mislead the public
Mveriwa says office of vice president remains committed to transparently accountability and responsible use of public resources
Commenting on the 2 billion kwacha budget, Center for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives CDEDI Executive Director Sylvester Namiwa has said will engage First Vice President to inquire on the source of funds for her private trip to UK.
Speaking during a media briefing in Lilongwe, Namiwa has asked government officials to protect the president’s legacy by avoiding corrupt practices.
