Truck Drivers To Hold Strike Against Low Salaries
Truck drivers in the country are planning to hold nationwide strikes on 16 October due to low salaries they are receiving which are not meeting high cost of living.
Months ago the association came with the same demands but were not addressed by their bosses and government.
According to vice president for Truck Drivers Union Francis Mkandawire the Malawi kwacha has been devalued several times but their Salaries and allowances are still the same which is very bad yet those of people working in different parastatals and private sector have been increased.
Mkandawire has vowed that truck drivers will continue strikes until the government and their bosses come to their senses and know that track drivers are important to transportation industries.
