Truck Drivers in Malawi strike against Inhumane Acts in Mozambique

Truck Drivers Association of Malawi TAM has commenced strike against inhumane acts its members are facing in Mozambique.

In an interview with Radio Islam TAM General Secretary Mphatso Mollen said the abuses which include hacking, robbing and damaging vehicles have been happening since election period in Mozambique.

Mollen says TAM has received over 40 cases of the abuses faced by its members hence cannot continue to put lives of truck drivers in jeopardy.

He vowed to continue with the strike until government of Malawi resolves the issue with its Mozambican counterpart.

However, Mollen says is yet to receive communication from government on the issue.
