Six Family Members Die In Road Accident

Six members of the same family including a driver and their mother have died after a vehicle they were traveling in was involved in a head on collision along Dedza-Lilongwe M1 road

The deceased have been identified as Kefasi Pachi 47, driver, Getrude Pachi 65, Shukrani Pachi 25, Estina Pachi 22, Ayilepile Pachi 17 and Tony Kasamiro 4

Public relations officer for Lilongwe police station Inspector Hastings Chigalu says the family which was staying in Chinsapo was coming from a chieftaincy ceremony in Machinga district

“Kefasi Pachi was driving a motor vehicle Honda Freed registration number BZ 10972 from the direction of Diamphwi heading Kamphata with five passengers on board, upon arrival at the said area he collided with a G4S Security Company motor vehicle, Hino Lorry registration number BT 10860 that was being driven by Dennis Chirambo 43,” Chigalu.

Following the impact the Honda Freed driver and all his passengers, thus three females and two males including a young boy sustained severe head injuries

They were all pronounced dead upon arrival at Kamuzu Central Hopsital KCH

They all hailed from Ngwaya Village Traditional Authority Liwonde in Machinga District

Driver of the G4S vehicle escaped with minor injuries
