Salima-Sengabay road rehabilitation in December
Works to rehabilitate the 22 kilometer road from Salima town to Livingstonia beach will commence in December.
Chief executive officer of Roads Authority Engineer Emannuel Matapa said the works will involve reconditioning of shoulders and sealing them with the view to widen the road.
“The contract has been awarded to SOS Construction Company,” said Matapa
He has therefore advised all people who ply their trade along the road reserve to immediately vacate at their own cost.
Matapa warned that failure to comply with this notice may result in the property or service being demolished without any further notice.
“The public is informed to strictly observe traffic signs to avoid accidents,” Matapa said.
Matapa said traffic flagmen will be placed at strategic points along the road to help regulate traffic.
He has requested co-operation and patience from communities.
