Radio Islam Listeners Association distributes iftaar to Muslims in Mangochi for Ramadhan

Radio Islam Listeners Association has distributed iftaar packages to Muslims in Kongwe and Chipalamawamba zones in TA Chimwala and Mponda for fasting in the holy month of Ramadhan

Speaking during the distribution vice chairman for the association David Daud Mpalume said they chose to distribute the iftaar to Kongwe zone as it is a remotest area which has a lot of listeners who are needy but not receiving assistance

Mpalume outlined that previously people from Kongwe formed listeners group but due to lack of encouragement the grouping was not effective

Therefore he said “the coming of the association’s leaders to the area has motivated Muslims in the area to start listening to Radio Islam which offers programs that can uplift their welfare.”

In his remarks Sheikh Alabie Chibwana said it was not easy for them to access the items which radio Islam listeners brought

Sheikh Chibwana said the coming of Radio Islam listeners to the zone and distribution of the iftaar has inspired them to assist people in the area

He vowed to make Kongwe zone strong but asked well wishers to help in getting rid of the challenges they face such as lack of clean water as they drink from wells since the area does not have borehole
