President yet to receive Women Manifesto petition
State house has said the president is looking forward to receive the petition of women manifesto movement which was presented to cities after demonstrations
Responding to reporters’ questions during final weekly brief Executive assistant and communications officer of state house Sean Kampondeni said Dr Lazarus Chakwera welcomed the demonstrations which women groups held against appointment of few women in parastatal boards.
Kampondeni said “Chakwera is not against the demonstrations because they are part of democracy.”
On the arrested civil servants who are still working he said Chakwera is following advice from attorney general and relying on investigators to provide evidence
He said the country is full of people who are fond of backbiting and want the president to dismiss all people who have been in civil service for over 25 years.
They think that such civil servants are corrupt and they must be fired but Chakwera cannot do so because he follows laws
