Security expert has pleaded with the public to recognize the efforts that men in uniform do in the country and offer support.
Speaking in an interview with Radio Islam, Dr Sharif Kaisi, has said this following the promotion of two police officers who have been promoted after foiling a theft attack at Mbowe in Lilongwe on 9th January.
Yesterday inspector general of police Richard Luhanga promoted and awarded Sargent Fred Nkhata and his colleague.
Kaisi, says the men and women in uniform face a lot challenges when carrying out their work and mostly not recognized which he said demotivates the officers.
“Managing national security is one of the complex duties one would do as he/she puts his life on the line, and when they do something good we need to recognize and reward the” said Kaisi.
He says though such crimes at still happening but it should not mean that those that are dedicated to their work should not be recognized for their efforts.
“We should commend the police chief and the responsible ministry for the gesture” He said
He has since asked other officers to emulate saying this would help the country achieve maximum security.
