Paramount Kyungu rescues vendors

Karonga district Council is now expected to work with one voice following the resolution made by paramount chief Kyungu at an emergency meeting yesterday as its leaders have been fighting for power since the councilors came into office.

Speaking during the meeting which was aimed at finding the solution to the decision to demolish vendor’s shops which were illegally constructed around the district bus depot, Kyungu asked the council leaders to forget their differences and start working together in order to develop the area.

” I now order that the council must not demolish the said shops to avoid bloodshed,” ordered Kyungu.

Meanwhile, rumours have emerged that principal secretaries for Ministry of Land and local government are expected to visit the district tomorrow Friday to resolve the land dispute issue.
