Over 60 million trees targeted in 2020 /2021 national forestry season
Government has targeted to plant 60 million trees in the 2020 to 20201 national forestry season
Speaking during the launch of the season in Nkhatabay district president Dr Lazarus Chakwera said encouraged Malawians to take care of trees for good health and improved wellbeing.
“Malawians should learn from natural disaster challenges that some areas are facing such as flash floods because of careless cutting down of trees,” Chakwera
The president also asked people to look for alternative sources of energy to conserve nature resources.
In her remarks, Minister of forestry and natural resources Nancy called upon companies to fund and initiate tree planning in Malawi.
