Over 20 million kwacha missing at Toll gate Plazas
Over 20 million kwacha which was collected at Chingeni and Kalinyeke toll gate Plazas has been looted and six revenue collectors arrested over the matter
Public Relations Officer for Roads Fund Administration Masauko Ngwaluko confirmed in an interview with Radio Islam saying investigations on the matter are underway
Commenting on the matter, Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation CHRR has called on Roads Funds Administration to ensure that all loop holes in the revenue collection at Chingeni and Kalinyeke toll gate Plazas are filled.
Reacting to the news CHRR Executive director Michael Kaiyatsa says “it is good to introduce electronic machines though which drivers can pay the fees.”
Kaiyatsa further called for transparency and accountability on the amount of money that have been collected and how they have been utilized
Commenting on the matter executive director of centre for social accountability and Transparency Willy Kambwandila asked for an audit on the money collected and suspects should be arrested.
