No extension of Phase 2 Voter Registration-MEC

Malawi Electoral Commission MEC says will not extend second phase of the voter registration.

Responding to questions regarding the second phase which ended on Friday 22^nd November Communications officer of MEC Richard Mveriwa has singled out fuel shortage as the challenge that affected second phase of voter registration.

Mveriwa says MEC approached Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority to access bulks of fuel for the exercise.

He encouraged people in districts where the third phase is expected to begin to register in large numbers.

Mveriwa said the second phase was conducted smoothly and thanked people for registering in large numbers
