Ministry of health and population has said results of laboratory test have shown that the suspected Ebola patient did not have the disease.
Secretary for health and population Dr Dan Namalika says the test was conducted by National Institute of communicable diseases NICD in South Africa.
Namalika says NICD is certified by World Health Organisation to conduct this type of test for countries in southern Africa.
“The Ministry shared information that was deemed necessary for purposes of public health and in an effort to minimize public concern surrounding the patient,”said Namarika
He stresses that any person’s medical information is private and confidential and the Ebola case is a matter of human rights.
