Malawi Police Service (MPS) has refuted rumours circulating on social media platforms alleging that Police at Mulanje Police Station are keeping in custody three men suspected of killing a child with albinism.
MPS clarifies that there is no report of such a case and no arrests related to the alleged incident at Mulanje Police Station.
Meanwhile, Police are actively pursuing individuals responsible for spreading such fake news, which has the potential to cause unnecessary fear and public alarm.
MPS appeals to the general public to always verify information through official Police communication channels instead of sharing unverified content on social media.
