NCST establishes Academy of Sciences

National Commission for Science and Technology NCST says establishment of Academy of Sciences will assist the country addressing various challenges

NCST Director General Gift Kadzamira said during a meeting with prominent scientists that the academy of sciences will serve as a valuable resource for advising government on policy making

Kadzamira stated that the academy focuses on social, economic and climate change related issues.

Secretary for the Academy Dr Elizabeth Bandason said “having a team of top scientists can contribute significantly to technological advancements and formulation of effective policies.”

Bandason said the meeting aims to strategize on recruitment efforts and approve outlined activities of the academy over the next five years.
