Muslims mourn genius MUST graduate Aisha Senga
Muslims have expressed sadness with the death of Aisha Senga who graduated with a distinction in Bio-medical sciences at Malawi University of Science and Technology MUST two days ago.
Senga a 26 year old died in an accident on her way to Lilongwe from Thyolo where she attended the graduation ceremony on Tuesday.
Upon her death she was secretary general of National Muslim Students Association NAMSA.
In an interview NAMSA President Abdullah Willy Chapola said the death is a big blow to the association.
“We have lost a role model and an adviser,” Chapola
In a separate interview co-founder of Girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics Halima Twabi said Senga’s death is a big loss to the country as a whole considering her field of choice.
According to Ntcheu police public relations officer Inspector Hastings Chigalu the accident happened after the driver failed to negotiate a corner at Bawi area along Balaka-Ntcheu M1 road.
Chigalu said as a result Senga sustained severe head injuries while the other two a passenger and driver escaped with minor injuries.
