Muslims Begin Fasting in the Holy Month of Ramadhan in Malawi
Qadria Muslim Association of Malawi (QMAM) has reminded Muslims to take the holy month of Ramadhan as a period of reconciliation and forgiveness.
The call was made as Muslims around the world have today started observing the thirty days of fasting in the holy month of Ramadhan
Speaking to Radio Islam, Publicity Secretary for QMAM, Sheikh Jaafar Kawinga, said Muslims should take an advantage of the month to purify their hearts and return back to Allah.
He advised Muslims in the country to strive for their own food in the month as it gives more rewards than depending on others,” sheikh Kawinga advised.
“I condemn Muslims who go around in cities begging saying such behaviors tarnish the good image of Islam,” Sheikh Kawinga said.
Meanwhile, Muslim Association of Malawi and president professor Peter Mutharika has wished all Muslims in Malawi and the world peace, joy and blessings as they observe holy month of Ramadhan.
