Muslims at Thom Village, Thyolo have new masjid after 40 years
Muslim community at Thom Village TA Nsabwe in Thekerani Thyolo district, are delighted to have new masjid after over 40 years praying in a glass thatched Masjid.
The new masjid was constructed after a well-wisher in the village Levison Makawa approached Gift of the Givers Foundation because Muslims were finding it difficult to use dilapidated masjid especially during rainy season as it was leaking badly.
Speaking to Radio Islam after the Foundation handed over Hamza Masjid and a solar panel system Makawa revealed that this is the first time an Islamic organization has come in the village with donation
“There are over 250 Muslim households in the area who will be utilizing the new masjid,” Makawa
Makawa however, asked the organization to assist with borehole and madrasah classrooms for the young generation to access Islamic knowledge.
In his remarks, Gift of the Givers Foundation programs manager Lidi Machemba has assured Muslims in the area of traditional authority Nsabwe in Thekerani that the Organisation will bring human development projects
Machemba however appealed to the Muslims to be united and work together for them to develop.
Hamza Masjid has been constructed with funding from one nation of United Kingdom.
