MP to Sue People Spreading Rumors of joining Malawi’s Ruling Party

MP for Salima North West constituency Dr Jessie Kabwira has said will take a legal action against any person who spreads rumors that she has joined Democratic Progressive Party DPP.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lilongwe Kabwira said the rumours are threatening her political career.

“Such reports have confused followers of Malawi’s main opposition Malawi Congress Party in my constituency as some party leaders are identifying another aspirant for 2019 elections,” Kabwira said.

Therefore, Kabwira said she will contest on MCP ticket in the polls.

She was dismissed from the party among other senior MCP officials who were suspended some months ago.

However, they obtained a court injunction which has delayed convention of the party.
