Ministry drafts National Cholera Control Plan

Ministry of health says is drafting a national cholera control plan which will run from 2025 to 2030

This has been revealed during a media engagement on cholera, measles and Mpox following reported cholera and measles cases in some districts

The ministry says has taken on board all sectors to ensure development of a comprehensive plan.

According to Dr Kondwani Mamba deputy director responsible for health promotion for the past four weeks in districts of Lilongwe, Chitipa, Machinga and Karonga have reported 41 cholera cases

Dr Mamba says lack of safe water supply and myths and misinformation among community members continue to affect efforts to end cholera in the country
