Minister calls for review of civil servants

Minister of tourism, culture and wildlife has called for the review of how civil servants operate claiming that some are unwilling to develop the country

Michael Usi made the call when he presided over the ground breaking ceremony of Sun Hotel in Liwonde

“It is the desire of the ministry to see more Malawians participating in the industry as stipulated in the Malawi national investment masterplan,” Usi

He stressed the need for creation of conducive environment to enable private sector create jobs

On his part Liwonde Sun Hotel managing director Yusuf Sherrif said he thought to establish it in Machinga as it is regarded as one of the key tourism hotspot areas since it has national park, Shire River, Malape Hills and Mawira Hot spring among others

Welcoming the development paramount chief kawinga said was delighted with the opening of the Hotel in Liwonde saying has shown how tourism industry is contributing to job creation among communities as 70 people have been employed
