Members petition MCP on Chairpersons Elections

Malawi Congress Party MCP’s Director of Political Affairs in Blantyre Vincent Phiri has submitted a petition to secretary general requesting elections for regional, district and constituency chairpersons

Speaking during a news conference in Lilongwe Phiri said have given Richard Chimwendo Banda an ultimatum of a week to reply to the petition failure which they will take further actions on the issue

Phiri revealed that terms of all regional, district and constituency chairpersons ended on 18^th May 2023 but leaders of MCP said they cannot hold such elections because they are preparing to next year’s elections
