Malawi bureau of standards MBS has disposed off 600 illegal weighing scales.
This has been done as part of a nationwide campaign targeting instrument that do not comply with the metrology act of 2016.
Speaking in Blantyre while presiding over destruction of illegal scales that were confiscated in the southern region, MBS Acting executive director Thomas Senganimulanje said “the operation has been carried out after completing all the legal processes.”
He said MBS will proceed with the exercise in Lilongwe and conclude in Mzuzu by the weekend
