Mbakuwaku Party to hold Convention a Month
Mbakuwaku Movement for Development (MMD) has set 6 November to 6 December for its national convention
Speaking in an interview with Radio Islam, MMD president Peter Kuwani, said the dates have been prolonged as the conference will be held through electoral colleges in all 229 constituencies.
Kuwani says all positions will be contested for at the conference with fees ranging from 200,000 kwacha for presidency, 50 000 for deputies in all regions, secretary general and 30,000 kwacha for all other positions.
He says they want to conduct their conference in a different way from the rest of the country’s political parties by making affordable for every member of the party to contest.
However, he failed to disclose the exact amount budged for the conference.
