Islamic Mother Body Formulates Child Safeguarding Policy

Muslim Association of Malawi MAM says is formulating a child safeguarding policy

Speaking during a child safeguarding policy development workshop in Liwonde, MAM programs officer, Abdul Hamid Kongwe said MAM recognizes its responsibility of safeguarding every person under its care hence the policy.

According to Kongwe, the policy will conform to the principles of Islam and take into consideration the Malawian Legal and policy frameworks as well as the International standards.

The programs officer has since assured the Muslim community of its commitment towards safeguarding children in the country.
