Malawi Faulted on Israel Relationship

Forum for Democracy and Rights Defenders (FDRD) has condemned government for strengthening bilateral ties with Israel.

FDRD’s sentiments come few days after Malawi Palestine Solidarity Movement (MPSM) strongly faulted Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister’s visit to Malawi.

In a press statement, FDRD also expressed shock with the visit which is happening at a time when Israel brutally killing innocent civilians in Palestine.

The statement signed by Chairperson of FDRD, Abdulrahman Ajasi says Malawi is continuing supporting Israel despite the call to government to reconsider its relationship.

For many years, Israel has been violating international laws by occupying Palestine and intensifying genocide assault on Gaza.

Ajasi said he expected Malawi to join other countries like South Africa in bringing a case against Israel before the international Court of Justice considering the atrocities Palestinians are facing in their own land.

In November 2023 FDRD led a solidarity March in support of people of Palestine.
