Malawi Commemorates World Rainwater Day
Malawians have today joined the rest of the World in commemorating the World Rain Day.
Speaking on the sideline of the day, President of Rain Water Harvest Association of Malawi (RHAM), MacPherson Nthara called on Malawians to regard rain water harvest programs as a valuable resource that need to be harnessed for productive uses.
Nthara has described the day as a platform to bring awareness on the value of rain and the importance of developing local alternate sources of water through rainwater harvesting and storm water management.
He said the day also offers an opportunity to educate and inspire the nation about how rainwater is essential, invaluable and the need to investment.
He also said this year’s day is commemorated alongside the launch of “Harvest Rainwater Now” campaign.
