Majilis Ulamah Council of Malawi condemns Malawi’s vote against Palestine

Majilis Ulamah Council of Malawi has asked Malawi government to openly tell Malawians the interest behind supporting the genocide in Palestine.

The council made the request at press briefing held in Blantyre, where it strongly condemned the government for voting against the cease fire resolution in Gaza.

The briefing was graced by Grand Mufti of Malawi Sheikh Muhammad Uthman Mtalika and other senior members of the council.

Addressing the media, Ullamah Council of Malawi said it is very disheartening to see Malawi supporting the killing of innocent people of which 70% of them are women and children.

The council further claimed that all peace loving Malawians are yet to establish the agenda of the ruling Malawi Congress Party by defaming the pride of the country through encouraging wars and fight against peace.

Ullama Council of Malawi has therefore appealed to political leaders, human rights activists, faith group leaders and the citizens to unite in their efforts to condemn Malawi’s stand in promoting genocide in Palestine.

Recently, countries voted overwhelmingly during United Nations General Assembly UNGA to adopt a resolution that demanded Israel to stop killing innocent people and withdraw from unlawful presence in occupied Palestinian territories.

But Malawi was the only African Country and among the 14 countries that voted no to the resolution
