Mai Aisha Trust rescinds Balaka Islamic Centre Closure

Mai Aisha Trust has rescinded its decision of closing Balaka Islamic Centre barely three weeks after the announcement.

Confirming the development, Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) said is pleased that Mai Aisha Trust has reconsidered is position after hearing the outcry of Muslim community

Speaking to Radio Islam, MAM Publicity Secretary, Sheikh Dinala Chabulika, commended Mai Aisha Trust for the gesture saying closing of the school was a big blow to the country’s development.

Sheikh Chabulika described dialogue as a better weapon of resolving issues adding MAM as mother body decided to engage Mai Aisha Trust on the matter after it received reports of the closure of the school.

When asked to explain the way forward of the school, Sheikh Chabulika was quick to refer our reporter to management of Mai Aisha Trust.

Balaka Islamic Centre is an education institution which offers both Islamic and secular studies.
