Local Economic Development for poverty reduction

Local Economic Development (LED) project is implementing some projects that will improve the lives of people who are economically poor.

The targeted beneficiaries for the project are the economically active poor, mostly small holder farmers.

Speaking during a wp-content tour in Mzimba, District Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Misheck Fombe, said the project aims at contributing to poverty reduction and improving the social economic wellbeing of the local population in growth centres.

Fombe said Mzimba Council LED projects were designed in line with Malawi Growth Development Strategy (MGDs).
