Lingadzi Police Station arrest four ex-convicts
Lingadzi Police Station in the capital Lilongwe is keeping in custody four notorious ex-convicts for a series of robberies in the city.
Lingadzi police publicist Salomy Chibwana Zgambo has identified the four, as Laston Gelevaziyo, Idrisa Mtuwa, Alli Issah and Laston Gogoda, were arrested during police raids carried out over the weekend.
The arrests come barely a few days after their ringleader, Yusufu Imedi, was netted on 6 November.
According to Zgambo, the suspects have just been released from Maula and Zomba Maximum Prisons and were terrorizing Areas 10, 11, 12 and 43.
The police tracked them down through a cob-web system and recovered a number of items in the process.
The recovered properties, among others, include plasma TVs, home theatres, projectors, DVDs, laptops and computer monitors.
The suspects have since been charged with robbery and will appear in court after thorough investigations.
