Leader of Opposition requests government’s explanation on future of AIP beneficiaries

Leader of Opposition in Parliament has requested government to explain to Malawians when beneficiaries of Affordable Inputs Program AIP that have been put on hold will get their Fertilizers.

Honorable DR Kondwani Nankhumwa has said this after government announced a suspension on scanning of IDs of AIP beneficiaries in order to clear backlog of those that have already been scanned.

In an exclusive Interview with Radio Islam Dr Nankhumwa said much as the decision by government is valid, information must be given to the nation on the future of the issue.

Dr Nankhumwa said with the way things are being handled it is clear that a lot of Malawians will also face hunger this year.

He then reiterated on the need for government to redesign AIP in order to benefit Malawians.

On the interdiction of Anti-Corruption Bureau director Martha Chizuma, Nankhuma said Malawians need answers hence government must break its silence and provide the needed information.
