IZF needs 2 billion kwacha to sponsor needy students
Islamic Zakaat Fund IZF says it needs 2 billion kwacha to sponsor 2300 needy students in the 2023-2024 financial year.
The appeal has been made following challenges that the institution has been facing in recent years in a bid to provide educational support to needy students in the country.
According to IZF administrator Emma Tepani the institution intends to reach out to over 2000 new and continuing needy students both in secondary and tertiary institutions locally.
Tepeni also says 200 million kwacha is needed to sponsor 82 continuing students currently pursuing their tertiary education at International University of Africa in Sudan.
She said over 200 students out of 900 that the organisation was sponsoring in local colleges and Universities graduated last year in different fields.
Tepani has therefore requested all willing Malawians to come to the organization’s rescue saying it is from such donations that the institution continues to make a positive impact on lives of needy students in the country.
Since its inception in 1991 IZF has educated over 3000 needy students in tertiary level.
