Islamic organizations in Mangochi in clean up exercise

Islamic organizations in Mangochi have cleaned around Mangochi town to promote hygiene

Speaking after the event chairman of Muslim association of Malawi in Mangochi Sheikh Fahad Kansuli commended the Islamic groups for the initiative saying Mangochi town council cannot manage to do all things alone

“It is the responsibility of all citizens in the district to render a helping hand in as far as making the district clean is concerned,” Sheikh Kamsuli

He urged the people to stop the malpractice of littering everywhere

In his remarks sheikh Abdunoor Fundi the head teacher at Umar Farook Education Centre said they thought of organizing the cleanup exercise to motivate people to make the town look admirable all the time

Fundi said “Islam encourages cleanliness therefore very important to follow what the doctrine says.”

He urged councilors and chiefs in the district to formulate laws that will force people to take hygiene seriously

Meanwhile mayor for Mangochi town council Edna Yusuf expressed gratitude to the initiative which Islamic organizations have done that has made the town to look nice

Yusuf said as the council they have some challenges therefore encouraged the groups to continue assisting them
