As Muslims are fasting in the holy month of Ramadhan, the Islamic information bureau IIB youth desk has organized a Ramadhan youth book quiz competition targeting 312 youths between the ages of 14 and 18.
According to IIB youth desk officer Abdul Hameed Imedi Chibwe, the Quiz is a national wide competition across the six information bureaus and registration of participants has already started until the 7th of March 2026.
Speaking in an interview with Radio Islam Chibwe said the aim of the competition is to promote the reading culture among the Muslims youth and increase youth engagement especially on Islamic activities.
He said this year’s competition which will run for three weeks, will base on a book titled ‘migrate the love for Jesus’ as part of trying to target different areas of Islam like history, Aqeedah and comparative Dawa.
“The competition involves registration, guided reading, the quiz rounds and then final ceremony, and the first winner going away with MK100, 000 with some assorted books, the second winner will be given MK 75,000 and the third winner will get MK 50, 000 and all the participants will be given books as well’, Chibwe said.
He said the quiz will be held in Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Balaka, Mangochi, and Blantyre with 52 participants on each bureau, but is open to all the Muslim youth from across the country.
Chibwe has therefore encouraged all eligible youth to register and take part in this Years’s competition as it will help them in understanding their religion.
The competition started in 2024 with a book called Muhammad the messenger of Allah and in 2025 with a book called ‘Chikhulupiliro cha msilamu’ (meaning a Muslim’s faith), targeting different areas that will help boost the youth’s knowledge of Islam.
