I will govern Malawi until 2030, Politicians to feel Pain-Chakwera

President Lazarus Chakwera has said will continue governing Malawi until 2030 and politicians who want to come back to plunder public funds will feel pain

Speaking during official opening of two day 2025 TEVET conference, Chakwera said leadership is a blessing and lazy people are thieves

The president asked Malawians to work hard and not be handiclappers of politicians to earn quick money.

He said every Malawian should take responsibility of ensuring that the 8.7 trillion kwacha 2025/2026 approved budget meets the nation’s development agendas.

In his remarks, minister of labour, Peter Dimba, said government has increased enrollment in technical colleges from 2,500 in 2021, to 7, 500 in 2024 which shows the country has placed priority on skills development

Employers’ Consultative Association of Malawi (ECAM) has requested government to rehabilitate dilapidated infrastructures in technical colleges and procure modern equipment.

Speaking during the opening of the two day TEVET conference president of ECAMA Ann Chavula welcomed the introduction of new studies such as mining and sustainable energy

Executive director of TEVETA Elwin Sichiola said Malawians should be happy because technical education is being provided to the youths in different areas

Sichiola said in January over 9,000 students were selected to various technical colleges
