Human bones dealer jailed

Zomba Senior resident magistrate court has sentenced a 36 year old man Mwishi Msosa to 6 years imprisonment with hard labour for transacting in human bones.

Eastern region police region prosecuting officer supretendent Patrick chambuluka said Msosa on Juy 15 at Mwinjilani village TA Nyambi in Machinga offered for sale bones extracted from human corpse to a certain businessman.

Chambuluka said the businessman reported the matter to the village headman who with the help of community members arrested and surrendered the convict to Nselema police.

“Upon interview the convict confessed to have been sent by his friend who stays in Mozambique to find him a market for bones of a person with albinism,” Chambuluka said

In court he pleaded guilty to the charge of transacting in human bones.

Mwishi Msosa hails from Limamu village TA Bwananyambi in Mangochi district.
