Government restricts hospitals visiting hours
Ministry of health has restricted visiting hours in health facilities.
Secretary of health Dr Dan Namalika has said this in a communication to directors of central hospital as well as health and social services.
Dr Namalika says the restriction has been introduced to combat disease transmission to both patients, visitors and reduce overcrowding in hospitals.
“The Ministry directs the management to introduce innovative systems to reduce crowding in waiting areas, provide chlorinated water, one guardian per patient, no visitors in wards and ward rounds be conducted daily among others,” says Dr Namalika
He states that the guidelines will change from time to time depending on the situation.
