Government, Plan International launch scholarship program

Ministry of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare in partnership with Plan International has launched scholarship program that will transform girls and young women in business across the country

Speaking during a press conference in Lilongwe Minister Patricia Kaliati said the scholarship program will help young women and girls to acquire knowledge in America which they will use to invest in Malawi

“Transfer the Transform Initiative is a continuous program as some will go to Canada next year,” Kaliati

In her remarks Plan International Malawi country director Phoebe Kasoga said the programme is enhancing capacities of young women to be drivers of change in Africa

Kasoga appealed to the beneficiaries to generate networks that will help the country to create opportunities for Malawians

Speaking at the same meeting SOS Global Investment founder from Ghana Dr Princess Ocansey said that in the first year 220 youths will participate in the program
