Government Pleads for more Solar Energy Initiatives

Government has underscored the need for enhancing solar energy programs, saying is the only source with no limitations.

Minister of Energy Sheikh Ibrahim Matola made the sentiments when he addressed delegates at the sixth session of Assembly of International Solar Alliance in New Delhi – India.

Sheikh Matola said solar energy has a possibility of propelling energy security, economic prosperity, and environmental stewardship if countries are geared up in harnessing and tapping the solar power.

Sheikh Matola said plans are underway to construct the 100 megawatts solar park in the country.

He thanked the International Solar Assembly which has installed the solar power system at Parliament Building in Lilongwe for supporting Malawi government.
